Loreto Convent, Osborne amalgamated with St. Louis Boys School and formed John XXIII College and decided to develop the school in Mt Claremont where a rubbish dump was.
The land where John XXIII college was going to be built was a rubbish dump, so a big clean-up had to be done.
Land Clearance 1985
By 1985 the rubbish dump was finally cleaned up and ready for ground development and planning. At this point the schools buildings had been built and were waiting until the rubbish tip had been fully cleaned up and ready for the land to be turned into fields and other buildings to be built.
Development 1985
The construction started straight after the clean up and all the earthworks development started as soon as possible and didn't take long for the earthworks and construction to be done so the development for the buildings could be started.
First day of John XXIII College 1986
The first day of John XXIII College was on the 11th of May 1986.
'Seek Justice' was the motto chosen for John XXIII College founded in 1977 following the amalgamation.
