John XXIII College commenced in 1977 following the amalgamation of Loreto Convent School and St Louis College. In 1986, the College moved to its location in Mt Claremont.

This is a story of an abundant hunting and fishing ground, the site of exclusion and imprisonment, a rubbish dump and a school. It is a story that belongs to many.
